The curriculum covers various themes including: I am Special, Fire Prevention,
Autumn, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Seasons, Community Helpers, Weather, Mothers, and other special holidays.
In this program, the children are introduced to letters in various ways. They see letters each day when
they find and move their name cards. Many of the children take this beyond recognition and work on naming
the letters in their names. Children also see sight words daily and the teacher points them out and repeats
them with the class.
The 2/3 class works on a shape each month and a color each month. By the end of the year they are familiar
and can name all the basic shapes and colors.
This class introduces math by counting to 10. The teacher adds on a new number each month until the class
makes it to 10. They also work on patterns and sequencing throughout their themes.

The curriculum covers the following themes: Who Am I and Where Do I Live?, Fire Safety, Autumn Changes,
Thanksgiving, Christmas Symbols, Weather Changes, My Body, Books, Spring and Planting, Bugs, and Summer Fun.
In this program, the children work on a letter a week. Each letter is introduced with it’s sound/sounds, and
words that begin with the letter. Handwriting is based on the Handwriting Without Tears Program for Kindergarteners.
Both Upper and Lower case letters are introduced. Children recognize their first, middle and last names, their
addresses and phone numbers. Children write their names and other words each day. The class is also introduced
to beginning phonics, blends, and chunks and how they work together to make words.
In Math, the Pre K class will write the numbers through 20 and count to 100. Sequencing and patterns are still taught
and built upon from the 3-4’s class. Simple math equations are taught and used with both concrete and symbols.
